In This Economy?

The face of addiction, and baby trafficking.

The economy is being a big tease right now. First it’s tanking, then it’s looking up! But it definitely still sucks. Then the numbers come out and the unemployment rate looks good! Oh, but it’s really not so good. One day you can afford your meth habit! The next? Nope, you’ve got to sell your baby.

Wait, what?

Walmart just can't catch a break.

Well it sounds odd, but that’s what this couple was trying to do on Thursday the 24th at their local Walmart in Salinas, California. They figured the Girl Scout method was their best bet, so they walked up to some unknowing ladies and offered them their 6-month at the Rollback Price of $25. But for some reason, the ladies weren’t interested in the reasonably-priced infant. And instead of  shrugging the incident off like many of us might, these heroic females reported the attempted sale to the authorities.

The couple was later arrested at their home — where they were found high on meth — and charged for being under the influence of narcotics and child endangerment. The dude meth-addict-and-attempted-baby-seller is almost twice the age of the chick meth-addict-and-attempted-baby-seller also, which only adds to the creepiness of this sad story. Gross. The kiddo has been taken by Child Protective Services.

Basically that baby is going to require a lot of expensive therapy, which ironically these yahoos won’t have to pay for.

What can we learn from this story folks? Meth is an expensive habit that makes you do fucking stupid things. Don’t do meth, or if you do, don’t ever have any babies. And if you are moronic enough to do both of those things, don’t try to sell your baby to pay for meth! Jeez. These things seem pretty obvious to me, but then again I’m not on meth right now.
