In This Economy?

There once was a girl named Edwina.

Whose favorite food was farina.

But along came a contest,

She went after her conquest,

And won TWENTY-FIVE THOUSAND FUCKING DOLLARS!!!!!!

So, Edwina is basically my hero right now. She’s last year’s Grand Prize Winner in the Mezzetta Make That Sandwich Contest.

Here at ITE we want to make sure you have every available opportunity to create a bailout for yourself. Needless to say, a 25k one couldn’t hurt, especially in this economy.

It’s pretty simple, really.

Just click here and enter your sandwich recipe. The only catch is that your creation has to contain at least two Mezzetta products, examples of which can be found here.

So after you’ve created a tiptop cheese and multiple porky meat-filled sammie (or whatever, it’s up to you — that’s just drocolate’s fave), just submit it at makethatsandwich.com and you’re all set. Remember that there are three categories in which to enter — hot, cold or vegetarian — and that there is no limit on the number of recipes you can submit!

The sandwich contenders will be judged upon the following guidelines:
- Creative Use of Ingredients
- Taste
- Ease of Preparation
- Visual Appeal

The contest guidelines also state that “All sandwiches must be served on bread products such as rolls, buns, wraps, biscuits, sliced bread, focaccia, etc. Sandwiches may include any combination of ingredients; in the Vegetarian category, the ingredients must exclude meat and fish, but may contain vegetables, fruits, grains, seeds, egg and dairy products.” Just FYI.

Also, no hacks, okay? Because “the recipe must not have been previously published or have won another award.” So plagiarize not, my eager sandwich artists! Oh, and the contest ends September 7th.
