In This Economy?

The economy sucks. We all know this.

And even I have to admit that sometimes bitching about it gets a little old.

So with that in mind, I started this new feature here at ITE. It’s called “Distractions” and it’s designed to help take your mind off of our current economic shitstorm — if only for a few minutes.

DISTRACTION #11: The Tron Legacy Trailer

Oh yes. It’s nerd time.

I’m not totally sure why I’m so drawn to this new Tron trailer. Maybe it’s because:

• It looks awesome.
• All of the unanswered questions from the first Tron will finally be answered in this one. (Were there any unanswered questions? I mostly just remember lots of colors and sweet helmets… eh, doesn’t matter.)
• Daft Punk is doing the music.
• Jeffrey Lebowski Bridges is back to reprise his role from the original.
• The best way to make a sequel is to take 29 years off between films.
• The term Tronny will once again become a popular way to describe someone who both loves Tron and dresses like the opposite sex.

It won’t be out until 2011, so enjoy this little taste now. Or feel free to forget all about it until then. Whatever works for you.
