Love him or hate him, there is no question that Billy Mays had an impact on the economy.
So, to honor him, we’ll be rolling out one of his infomercials (with a wee bit of commentary of course) every day this week.
Day 5: OxiClean
Today, to mark the conclusion of ITE’s week-long tribute to Billy Mays, I’m highlighting the product that I most associated with him — OxiClean.
OxiClean is a mysterious product that can clean anything without doing any damage. You can even clean lace!!! I think this miracle product would have sold itself pretty well without the Billy Mays yell factor, but with him it REALLY exploded. For a while there, everyone had OxiClean this and that, and if you spilled some red wine on your friend’s carpet it was cool because they had one of those little OXiClean squeeze bottle things.
If only OxiClean and ShamWow could have joined forces…
Alright, that’s all I’ve got. I’m going to go put on some eye-liner and mascara, weep all over a white shirt because Billy Mays is dead and then soak that shirt in some OxiClean.
