Distractions: The Wheelchair Scene from Mac and Me

Posted by drocolate on June 10th, 2009

The economy sucks. We all know this.

And even I have to admit that sometimes bitching about it gets a little old.

So with that in mind, I started this new feature here at ITE. It’s called “Distractions” and it’s designed to help take your mind off of our current economic shitstorm — if only for a few minutes.

DISTRACTION #7: The Wheelchair Scene from Mac and Me

Today I present one of the best scenes from one of the best movies ever. Check it out:

Things to note:

  • The makers of that wheelchair need to be prosecuted. I mean, what kind of shitty wheelchair brakes don’t work on a steep hill? I smell a lawsuit.
  • Stop the video at the 0:23. Look at how realistic that fake kid in that fake wheelchair looks!
  • The back of E.T.’s Mac’s head looks like a butt.
  • Stop the video at 1:04. Note that E.T. Mac does not appear to have genitalia — just some creases.

Seriously, this scene is brilliant. I mean, I really thought Eric was going to die. I was scared! And then that creepy little E.T. Mac saved him!

I’m struggling with one thing though. Who does Mac look like? Watch the clip (or just run out and buy a copy of E.T. Mac and Me on Beta) and let me know in the comments.

  1. He kinda has a Paul McCartney expression on his face.

  2. I guess the “on his face” was redundant.
