This time, they’re asking something of their customers though. They’re asking us to bring a friend to breakfast. And in this economy, what’s more important than friends? As the saying goes, “I’d rather be rich in friendship than rich in bank roll.” Yeah, I just made that up. I’ll take the cash, Chuck.
And we’re back… to Denny’s. The new deal goes like this: Bring a friend to your local Denny’s on April 8th between 6am and 2pm, order a Grand Slam for yourself, and your friend gets a free Grand Slamwich (kickin’ name, by-the-way). I suppose you could keep them both for yourself, ITE, but as you can see, Denny’s is all about friendship. Friendship, and getting more customers through promotions like this one.
But let’s talk about this Grand Slamwich for a second because it’s got a lot going for it. You start with the often-underrated potato bread, grilled and filled with eggs, ham, hash browns, bacon, mayo, cheese and “maple spice” spread. Not bad, I say. Meanwhile, you’re eating — and paying for — an original Grand Slam — eggs, pancakes, bacon and sausage. I’m thinking this “friend” of yours had better be special. A real BFF or something. Because while you’re spending $5.99, your “friend” eats for free. Who’s getting slammed now??!

The people at Denny’s are a bunch of Anti-Semites! Not only is the “Grand Slammich” completely un-Kosher, what with all of the pork, but the free deal is on Passover. The Jews won’t even be able to enjoy that delicious potato bread. Shame on you, Denny’s. Shame. On. You.
