Topps to release their own shithead trading cards

The Topps 2009 Allen & Ginter series of cards will feature a subset of cards devoted to the “world’s biggest hoaxes, hoodwinks and bamboozles”. In addition to 260 actual baseball cards, 20 cards will be made featuring the likes of King Shithead himself — Bernie Madoff, Enron and the original gangsta — Charles Ponzi.
From looking at the cards (a small sampling can be viewed HERE), I’m really impressed with the artwork. I think they really captured the lifeless quality in Bernie Larry’s eyes.
The cards will be randomly inserted into packs that will retail for about $3 each.
Or to look at it another way: It would take about 17 billion packs sold to recoup the money King Shithead stole.
That’s a lot of disgusting cardboard-flavored bubble gum.
Great work, Topps.
And to all of you baseball card enthusiasts — good luck finding a Madoff.
