R. Allen Stanford is still a shithead

Posted by drocolate on March 11th, 2009

Sir Asshole himself, Mr. R. Allen Stanford, has decided to take the fifth in his fraud case. Just in case you forgot, Mr. Stanford pulled a Madoff and Ponzi’d away $8 billion of his investors money. He did a lot of this shady business out of one of his banks in Antigua. As a result the island of Antigua has really taken a hit. Though they probably had it coming for knighting this shithead in the first place.

Wait, what was I talking about? Oh yes! He is pleading the fifth. Yes, it seems Sir Shithead doesn’t want to talk about himself, his “accomplishments”, or his lifestyle on the stand.

Of course things were different a year ago. Back then he just loved talking about himself and how “fun” it is being a billionaire. Check it out:

CNBC: “How did you manage to avoid the subprime mortgage crisis, Sir Allen?”

Sir Asshole: “Well I’m a fucking thief, son. That’s really it. Y’know, in a nutshell.”

CNBC: “You’re a legend and I wanna do you!”

Seriously though, this guy is so ridiculous.

Oh and in the interest of full disclosure, I was inspired to use that clip after seeing it on The Daily Show last week. It was a part of Jon Stewart’s now infamous “Fuck CNBC” rant. Check out the whole thing HERE. It’s amusing stuff.

One other interesting/distressing note about Sir Asshole: The case I’m referencing above is only a civil case. The only criminal charges that have been filed as of yet are against his cheif investment officer, Laura Pendergest Holt. And those were for obstruction of justice, not theft. Thus far, despite all the fraud, he is still practically a free man.

And I am disgusted by that.
