Quiznos is botching their free sub giveaway

The past six months have given way to what I like to call the sandwich wars. I’m not exactly sure who started it but at some point both Subway and Quiznos turned their promotion machines on to full blast and didn’t look back. The first major milestone was Subway’s $5 foot long sub deal. You may remember the awful commercials that accompanied it. Quiznos countered that by lowering the prices on some of their subs to $4.99 and announcing that they have, “20 subs for under $5!”. Subway countered with an expanded $5 foot long menu and, well, this has been going back and forth for months now.

I always thought in the back of my mind that eventually one of the two average sammie giants would initiate some sort of free sandwich deal to get a leg up in the war and I was right. Quiznos recently announced it would be giving away a million free subs. All you had to do was visit their website, give some info and a coupon would come back to you for a free sub.

Unfortunately, Quiznos sucks and has been botching this promotion all over the country. The Consumerist reports that a lot of Quiznos franchises are not pleased about the free sub deal and have stopped accepting the coupons. While some places simply don’t accept (or “except” as the image above so eloquently states it) the coupons others are creating ridiculous addendums to them. Things like giving away the free sandwich, but only after you buy chips and a drink. Click HERE to read more.

It looks like Subway will win this battle. But the war rages on.

Oh, and if you’re wondering, Quiznos recently reached their goal and (conveniently) gave away the million free sandwich coupons. Quiznos sucks.

    I hate Quiznos. They put the mustard on BEFORE they toast your sandwich. And they look at you like you are asking more extra meat when you ask for mustard after they toast it. Quiznos sucks!
