Taco Bell is botching it lately

A quick search for news stories about Taco Bell yielded some interesting shit this afternoon. What first caught my attention was a story about two teenage boys who hacked into a radio frequency used by the drive through speaker and cussed at some customers or something. Pranksters!

This is not one of the apprehended pranksters. I just found this photo and thought it worked.

The second story really had me laughing. It seems a Taco Bell in Marietta, GA is getting a bit greedy. They don’t want to give out free water to customers anymore, so they’ve put up a sign that says “Sorry, our drink machine does not have water but we do offer bottled water…” Let’s ignore the bizarre color choices and lacking comma usage on the sign itself and just think about it for a second. Does this Taco Bell have a fruit punch or lemonade in their drink machine? Yes. So they do in fact have effing water — case closed. That’s the way of the world. Everybody knows that. And if the water’s a little bit pink because it’s mixed with Hi-C? Fine! All the better, in fact. No scary lemon slice is necessary. Does the sign’s author actually think his or her handiwork is going to get the customers of said Taco Bell to splurge on fancy water from a bottle? In this economy?!

The best part is that the little “water” button that was visible on the machine previously appeared to have been colored in with a black marker. Please. Give your customers just a little credit.

As for me, I’m looking forward to hearing more about Taco Bell’s antics…
